The Village
Dance Academy proudly announces the opening of their 10th
season in Maplewood. The 9th year concluded with
two highly acclaimed, very successful recitals, making the
staff, Ms. Kathie and all the families very proud and happy.
Our Mission
The mission of
the academy is to enliven the imagination, enrich the spirit
and strengthen the body. This unique dance institution is
dedicated to presenting aspiring dancers as young as 3
through adults from beginner to professional skill levels
with the highest standards of dance education. Village
Dance Academy strongly believes in giving every student the
opportunity to grow and develop in all areas of dance under
the careful tutelage of the finest, most caring instructors
available. Students will be taught both the traditional and
correct methods of dance through a balanced program designed
to produce well rounded, energetic and of course, happy
dancers. Classes are graded according to age and ability
and students are welcome to explore a variety of styles
including ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop and
performance groups. Younger children who are receiving
their first introduction into the world of dance can develop
both their imaginations and quality of movement in the safe
and caring environment of the pre-dance. Dancers ages 7 and
up will learn to incorporate technique, stage presence,
composition, choreography, student improvisation and
repertory work in the academy’s “graded classes”. Aside
from an unforgettable dance program, Village Dance Academy
is proud of their choreography for current and former dance
students who are continually complimented on their level of
training, have won numerous awards and received parts in
countless productions.
